Health Facilities Maintenance Program

Scope

The Building Utilities Plan is designed to promote a safe, controlled, and comfortable environment of care through the provision and maintenance of adequate and appropriate utility services and infrastructure. 

Objectives

  • Ensure the operational reliability of all UCSF Health utility systems.

  • Ensure all utility management processes are performed in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner.

  • Monitor utility management data to proactively identify issues and opportunities for improvement.

  • Through the utilization of a Computerized Maintenance Management System (IBM Maximo), all Facilities Staff adheres to system procedures when performing preventative maintenance or un-scheduled repairs on systems and equipment.

    • The hospital manages risk associated with its utility systems.

  • Emergency Power Systems EC.02.05.07

    • The hospital inspects, tests and maintains emergency power systems.

  • Med Gas and Vacuum EC.02.05.09

    • The hospital inspects, tests and maintains medical gas and vacuum systems.
